Oudtshoorn Homestay Accommodation is an owner run guest house and backpackers, and is situated in Oudtshoorn. This establishment is ideal for guests looking for a stopover, en route to various attractions.
Accommodation at the guest house comprises 4 double rooms and 1 Backpackers room. The rooms are equipped with double beds or bunk beds, and have either an en-suite or access to a shared bathroom.
Guests have access to a communal kitchen, and there are braai facilities to use as well. The establishment has an in-house housekeeper, who can assist with laundry services. Secure parking is available for vehicles.
We currently have water restrictions and guests are asked to use water sparingly.
Oppi dam is situated at the foot of the majestic Swartberg mountains, 14 km from Oudtshoorn en route to the world-famous Cango Caves. An awesome getaway spot for those seeking accommodation away from the city life.
Accommodation comprises 2 Chalets, 2 Cottages and 3 Camping Sites, suited to accommodate up to 72 guests in total. All units comes equipped with comfortable beds, a bathroom and some units come equipped with self-catering facilities.
On-site facilities include a swimming pool, a braai area and secure parking.
Nearby activities include horse riding, fishing, wine tasting and games drives.
Kareebos Wildreservaat is situated just 20 km from Oudtshoorn, and is ideal for those who enjoy camping.
Kareebos Wildreservaat consists of a lapa with a built-in braai and a cooking area. Electricity, as well as ablution facilities with a warm shower, is available.
Guests please need to bring their own tents or caravans; caravans should preferably be high off the ground. Guests can also bring camp beds and put them on the lapa’s deck. Pets are unfortunately not allowed, unless they are lap dogs. Kareebos Wildreservaat reached by a gravel road.
Various walking and hiking trails are available and guests are welcome to bring their own bicycles. Guests can also relax on the lapa and enjoy the views of the Swartberge.
Spitskop Veldkamp is a very basic campsite on a farm on the R62, just outside of Oudtshoorn.
Ideal for die-hard campers, the site offers a flushing toilet and a braai area only. Guests need to bring their own cooking utensils as well as equipment needed for camping. Please note there is no running water at the site and guests need to bring their own water.
The 230-hectare farm has free-roaming game, offering guests a chance to get close to nature in complete privacy.
It is extremely important that campers realise that there is only a flush toilet and a braai. No drinking water. Please also keep the Karoo’s climate in mind. It is very cold or very hot.
This spot is extremely private and peaceful. Spitskop Veldkamp is for nature lovers and not for guests who like luxurious facilities.

Amber Lagoon is a backpacker’s dream, buried in the heart of the Klein Karoo and bordered by the Swartberg Mountains and the Gamka Nature Reserve. It is just off Route 62, between Oudtshoorn and Calitzdorp.
This small and friendly backpackers is located in a cheerful old house with a large, shady garden and swimming pool. Set in a leafy and historic neighbourhood, it’s a quiet and peaceful place, just a short walk from the town centre.
